One of my goals for the future is to gather a budget big enough to be able to walk into my favorite galleries and buy the Art right of the wall, but until then, I have to find alternative ways to decorate my home. I’m sure you’ve noticed that recently there is a huge demand for minimalistic, blurry looking Art. The kind of Art, which makes you think – ‘I can do it, maybe I could paint it at home’. I have to be honest here, I’ve been tempted for a while to get some white canvas and search inner artist in me, but then it felt kind of strange to admit I was going to paint something. If you never painted anything (maybe apart from Art classes back at school) it might feel like driving a car for the first time – looks easy, but it takes a while to get comfortable with. This is why before you decide to paint a portrait of your kids, try with an abstract design, using limited colors, for a bigger chance to succeed. The great thing about abstract paintings is that it just can’t go wrong!
Blurring helps to enhance the colors while hiding the shapes and forms, giving the image dreamy, mind blogging feeling. I find myself starring at the blurry art, trying to figure out what is the story behind it, which is actually very relaxing.
Confession – this is actually the second painting I made, I didn’t like the first one, so if it also happens to you, don’t stop there. Experiment, get creative, try your skills until you create something that you like.

I squeezed out a drop of dark blue paint on a piece of paper and run the roller applicator through it. Then I painted the pattern on the white sheet of paper. It is important that you start with a drop of paint – as this is how you create the ‘drop looking’ design. Apply a few rows of it to fill up the entire sheet of paper (trying to make them overlap in few points). Then I repeat the same procedure with a white paint, applying the pattern on top of the dark blue one. This is how I obtained the blurry effect.
I see rain drops in this painting, what is your interpretation? Is it your kind of Art?
