An apartment that only measures 35 square meters across is pretty small and doesn’t really allow that many options in terms of internal layout and design. The architects at MÁS epiteszek were convinced they could make something great out this place – an apartment located in Budapest, Hungary.
The apartment is very metallic and has an industrial appearance which gives it a lot of character
They were very successful in their endeavor and this is the result: a completely redesigned flat with an entire new look. All the interior walls were demolished and all the rooms were combined into one. This space acts as a kitchen, a living room, a dining area and a bedroom. It’s spacious but even so all these areas had to be delineated somehow. That’s where the role of the furniture comes in.
The greenery balances out the cold look of metal, creating a harmonious decor
Although this is a single room it serves multiple purposes, being a kitchen, dining room, a living room and also a bedroom
The bed can be stored vertically inside the custom wall unit, making the bedroom disappear completely
The bathroom and a mechanical room are clustered along the entrance, leaving everything else inside a large open space. An industrial decor envelops the entire apartment, giving it a masculine feel without creating an unwelcoming look. There’s more to the interior design that just that. Some furniture pieces are multifunctional and some are very space-efficient, such as the wall bed or the sliding panels which reveal a kitchen hidden behind closed doors. For a one-room apartment this place is surprisingly spacious and very user-friendly.
It’s not just the bedroom that can be hidden behind closed doors but also the kitchen
Metal seems to take over this apartment which makes sense considering the industrial design chosen for the place
The plants are added to the design in an unusual but at the same time very efficient and interesting way
The bathroom is small and designed in perfect harmony with the rest of the apartment
One of the coolest design features is the bathroom sink which doesn’t really exist, not in the traditional sense anyway
When the wall bed is hidden, that area serves as a lounge space with a comfortable sectional at the center
