Industrial elements are increasingly used nowadays, especially when it comes to interior design. If we think about it, it’s pretty difficult to entirely get rid of them, so the only option we have is to hide them, or even better, to learn how to use them in a beneficial way. Give them a purpose, make them part of your design!
This apartment is one of a kind. It has 123 square meters and include one bedroom, a living room, a kitchen, a dressing room and of course, a bathroom. Industrial and natural elements…quite an unusual combination, don’t you think?
At a first glance this appears to be a cold space, mostly due to the colors and materials used. You will see an effective contrast between the almost black floors (made of kiln fired solid oak) and industrial materials like steel or concrete. This effect is doubled by the fluffy soft white rugs in the living room and bedroom, used in antithesis with the exposed ceilings.
The low ceiling effect was reduced by using low profile furniture and floor to ceiling windows with a double role: not only they allow natural light, but they add elegance and refinement to this apartment. The high metal shelves also bring the sense of a larger space, and the open closet is the perfect feature that entirely completes this feeling.
There is another important aspect we cannot ignore: lighting. Sleek track lighting was used in the living room, in order to maintain the industrial look. In spite of the low ceilings, hanging lamps were used in the kitchen and bedroom. Anambitious attempt I would say! (found onHqroom.ru)
