The iconic Flatiron Building is located in Manhattan, New York. First completed in 1902, it’s a groundbreaking skyscraper named this way because of its resemblance with a cast-iron clothes iron. In this unmistakably unusual building there’s a particularly beautiful apartmentwith a breezy and soothing interior design.
The entire apartment is very bright and airy, featuring a crisp palette of colors revolving around whites and grays. The décor gainst color and personality through a number of accessories including glamorous side tables, oversized floor lamps and interesting artwork.
The living space is spacious, containing two light gray sofas placed at an angle to frame a recyangular white coffee table. Large windows let natural light pour in, revealing the charming and casual character of this space.
A Sapien bookcase stands in the corner, adding a little bit of visual interest to the room and breaking the monochromatic palette.
The living area shares the floor plan with the dining space which at the far end of the room, facing the windows. In between these two zones is the spiral staircase enclosure.
The dining table is simple, featuring a rectangular top and no unnecessary details or ornaments. It’s complemented by six stylish Wishbone chairs. A white oversized pendant lamp hangs low above the table.
The kitchen is lined up with the dining area. It has a large island which doubles as a bar and breakfast nook and three industrial-inspired pendant lamps hanging above it.
The furniture in the kitchen is glossy white and the appliances, bar stools and light fixtures are the only contrasting elements, adding stainless steel accents to the palette.
The apartment has four bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms. The master bedroom is particularly interesting. It has a wall full of art pieces which add color to the crisp white décor.
The windows of the master bedroom offer views of the water tower, creating a casual ambiance.
The minimalist, white-infused color palette was also used in the rest of the spaces. The nursery room is no exception. In here, the walls are adorned with playful artwork, open shelves holding toy boats and stuffed animals and educative posters.
The play area gets its colorful look from the numerous toys and children’s artwork pieces displayed and scattered around the room. A set of open shelves hold a collection of children’s books and the adjacent wall is decorated with numerous drawings hanging from a string and held by clothespins.
The master bathroom has a subtle coastal charm due to the white and pastel green accents. The walls and furniture are white, with the double sink vanity sharing a wall with the wall-hung toilet. A large mirror covers the entire upper portion of the wall.
A glass partition separates this area from the tub and shower enclosure.
The smaller bathroom, on the other hand, is bolder. It has an entire wall covered with framed artwork of all kinds and a black-and-white patterned chair placed casually in a corner. An elegant white chandelier completes the look.
