All you need in order to transform a space from just a simple house into a cozy home is some spare time and a bit of creativity. Lots of projects that can be done only require a small number of resources and yet have a big impact on the overall look and feel of a home.

For instance, this DIY farmhouse wall decor project that we’re going to take a look at today is super easy and cheap to make.

How to craft this lovely decoration:

Step 1: Paint the frame

When we said this is a super easy project we weren’t kidding. You can do it in just three simple steps. The first one involves the acrylic paint that you should have prepared. Go ahead and paint the wood frame using a small paintbrush. The back section can actually remain as is and you only need to paint the front and the edges, in other words, the sides of the frame that will be visible once you hang this decoration on a wall.

Step 2: Add some lace straight across

Once the paint has dried you can proceed to the next step of the project. Take some of the lace ribbons you’ve prepared and stretch it across the frame somewhere around the center. Then apply a bit of glue onto the frame and gently press the ribbon on top of that making sure it’s nicely stretched and there are no creases.

Wrap the lace ribbon around the frame on the sides and glue it onto the back of the frame so it looks nice and clean from the front.

Step 3: Wrap and glue the yarn around the frame

The third and final step of this project is to wrap some of the yarn around the frame and to use hot glue to secure it in place. You can start from the center of the frame and make your way outwards in order to wrap the yarn perpendicular to the lace ribbon that you’ve decorated the frame with earlier. It’s up to you to decide how much yarn you want to use. This also depends on the type of yarn and in particular its thickness.

We chose a combination of earthy colors for the lace and the yarn and they complement each other nicely and go well with the whole farmhouse theme. Of course, you can pick any colors you want and experiment with different combinations.
